The First one, EVER... an introduction and a reason

I had been thinking about starting a blog based within the realm of the recording industry, live sound, and high-fi audio, for a while now, and a couple of weeks ago another blogger got me thinking that now was a perfect time to do it.
Robert Scoble a mover and a shaker within the tech industry recently wrote this blog about what to do if your "laid off." He writes this blog in a time when Microsoft, IBM, among countless others are laying off jobs left and right. Scoble wrote this blog with the "laid off" in mind, but within the recording industry, media, especially "New Media" is key, and can be the difference between not even getting past the gatekeepers, and landing that sweet job at the Record Plant, Blackbird, or even Skywalker Sound.

In case your not interest, or don't have the time to read the link, basically, Scoble says to be "visible" within your respective industry and constantly talk the talk, in my case that means; SSL, Neve, Fairchild, Digidesign, API, Manley, and the list can (and will) go on forever. Just be out there, and be smart about it. no LOLCATs etc. etc. The other thing he mentioned was to keep it personable, through a little of your life into it, but keep it mostly focused on your career.

I am a Senior at Middle Tennessee State University, I will be graduating in May with a Bachelors of Science in Recording Industry with a concentration in Production and technology. Once I've graduated I admit I'm not quiet sure what I want to do. So why not start actively getting my name out on the web? more and more
companies include a simple, but effective Google searches in their hiring process. so why not have my name pop up in one of the top five spots in Google, when someone searches NEVE? Sounds good to me!
